APPLE JUICE - LOUIS ARMSTRONG REMIX PROJECT - PLUS SOME!

Beverly Hills, CA (
PRWEB) December 16, 2009 -- Battalion Armour presents Beautiful Warriors 2, a series of six holiday videos featuring six women from six ethnic backgrounds posing to Louis Armstrong Remixed by Apple Juice Kid. These semi-nude videos were shot in HD by Tishaun Dawson as a gift of love for the holidays. The music behind Beautiful Warriors 2, a jazz meets hiphop mix, is also available as a free download. The seven song album produced by Apple Juice Kid includes Keyboards, Bass and Guitar by Kevin Timmons, and Drums/Percussion by Stephen Levitin. "I chose Louis Armstrong to provide the soundtrack to the Beautiful Warriors for the whimsical nature of his music and its ability to bridge cultural boundaries with expressions of love. It takes a special type of sound to create the right mood for this ethnically diverse cast of women. The only producer who could give Louis’ music a new twist while respecting the perfection was Apple Juice Kid, who I first met while creating a video for his critically acclaimed Miles Davis Remix album.

Young Cobe Obeah comes back to OKP with a brand new track that's not just hot, it's "Flames." The track, "Flames (Hot Musiq)," was produced by The Apple Juice Kid, and will appear on his mixtape, Song of the Starz, dropping in the spring of 2010. Says Cobe of the track: "Apple Juice Kid and I came together on this song to bring our version of the 'African A millie'. The song is meant to have people pay attention to the lyrics. The beat will definitely have one banging their head, and many will hear this in the club in LA. Don't sleep there is more to come."

Wale single, "My Sweetie (Spray It)" produced by Apple Juice Kid. Listen and read about it here: DCtoBC (LOVESOUL.TV INTERVIEW).
Wale leaked a new, incomplete joint on twitter today. and sure, you can get it from other sites as just any old download, or you can get the story behind why this song is huge. oh, you want that story!? let’s get it then. Ok, so back in the 70’s and 80’s, when Nigeria caught disco fever, like the rest of the world, there was a disco / afrobeat / whatever-you-wanna categorize-it-as artist named bunny mack. he came out with a few albums, and was pretty popular, but his most popular hit was this song called “My Sweety, My Sugar (Let Me Love You)”.
Now, what my nigerian brother from another has done is brought the classic nigerian disco tune from ‘79 into the ‘09 with the help of chapel hill native the apple juice kid (this guy’s production is official. I remember DL’ing a mixtape of sorts back in the day and it blew me away. look out for him!). the reason that i think this joint is tight (besides the fact that it goes) is because it appeals to the african youth that live vicariously through their parents and through the classic jams that play at cookouts, weddings, and birthday parties. it brings together two worlds, and regardless of whether or not wale did this consciously, it was genius. the DJs in lagos are about to have a ball with this one.
T.I..A.-K'Naan Feat. AFRIKAN BOY (APPLE JUICE KID REMIX) 2 DOPEBOYZAnother OkayRoots production with The Apple Juice Kid. This time he brings along his band The Remix Project for their brand new album Mixtape. They did live instrumental interpretations of your favorite hip-hop tracks along with some of their favorites. The artwork was done by Dallas’ own Objektiv One so be looking out for much more from this dope designer as he is now illRoots Familia. Some brand new Freebass 808(Apple Juice Kid x Suede) is on the way as their first single ‘Rewind’ featuring Jovi Rockwell of Major Lazer will be dropping soon.
