Trevor Mcshane Americana / Folk Rock / Roots Music "AMERICAN MUSIC'S DISTINCTIVE NEW VOICE" In the great tradition of... Lou Reed, Leonard Cohen, John Prine, Tom Waits, Neil Young, and John Hiatt! The mysterious, adventurous, reclusive, Trevor McShane was raised on a ranch in Wyoming. Ivy League educated, he spent a great deal of time after college traveling the world. Determined to "find himself," he made his way to Tibet where he spent six months as a monk-in-training, eventually being forced to leave the country after demonstrating against the construction of a Holiday Inn. He then signed on as a merchant seaman sailing the seas, learning many shanty songs, and finally settling in St. Kitts where for two years he played bass in a reggae band. Curious about the former Soviet Union, McShane applied to and was accepted at the University of Bulgaria, obtaining a partial scholarship, becoming the school's only foreign exchange student, and concluding his formal education with a doctorate in the sciences. To help finance his studies, he also joined a local band that played Klezmer and Eastern European traditional music. Trevor is now a science professor at a small Midwest university where he has made a contribution to the study of malaria and Monarch butterflies. McShane has been playing guitar for over three decades and has finally decided to "go public" with his "folk-rock-country-pop" rootsy quasi-Americana blend of music. "First Love, Last Love," the debut CD by Trevor McShane, was released in 2001. It is actually one-half of a throughly original soundtrack / novel project...the very first of it's kind in combined mediums! The novel, authored by Trevor McShane, is the story of one man's life and loves...a poetic, quintessential West Coast experience. The musical portion of this singular effort, is a collection of unique California flavored rock, and country-rock based songs penned by McShane, and featuring his cool understated vocal delivery combined with an impressionistic dreamscape of instrumentation offered up by a wonderful band of notable musicians. TREVOR MCSHANE new video for his hit song "HAPPY, HERE AND NOW" NEW CD COMING SHORTLY! T/B/A. After completing his first CD, McShane penned the lyrics for the highly innovative and groundbreaking CD by Michael Jarrett , "Journey into Love," released by East of Sideways Music in 2007. Jarret wrote several songs recorded by Elvis Presley, including the single "I'm Leaving." Trevor's followed these efforts with "Dizzy," produced by John Barnard with the masterful help of Barry Keenan. Slowly but surely the word has gotten out about this quality album, which has many fans. Trevor also has just finished recording "Contemporary Retro," and it will be released in October of 2009. It has 16 new songs on it, including extensive guitar work with legendary guitarist Albert Lee, and two duets with the great Mitch Ryder. Further, McShane recorded with a horn section! It's smoking hot stuff! Rich E. Blaze and McShane are also nearly completed on another cd, titled, "McShane on Fire." Look for a releast in January 2010. This cd has cowrites with Rambling Jack Elliot and Jack Tempchin ("Peaceful Easy Feeling"). McShane is also nearing the completion of yet another cd where he and Barry Keenan have collaborated. McShane is writing and co-writing constantly, and this is all in addition to his very busy and intense responsibilities as a top entertainment and litigation attorney. (The biographical details above are false --- thanks for reading this far --- and many know already McShane's real identity.) McShane has been playing dates in the Los Angeles area and will throughout the rest of the year. Trevor McShane's real identity will be announced very soon! Great surprise!
